Benny Kautz

There are weekend shooters and hobbyists but for bobergarms.com founder Benny it is a lifestyle. Growing up in Alabama gave Benny ample opportunity to explore the wilds and gain a deep understanding and respect for the sport of hunting.

Before he hit his teenage years, Benny had taken deer, turkey, wild hog and numerous small game from the woods around his home. As his passion grew, he began to travel the Eastern U.S. for more hunting opportunities. While this love of the outdoors still exists, it was just the tip of the iceberg for what was to come.

Benny became committed to defensive firearms when he hit his late teenage years and his early 20s saw him competing in numerous shooting sports from IDPA to NSSF Three-Gun. He even tinkered with NRA F-Class long range.

While he is always hesitant to call himself a professional shooter, his experiences have put him well above the curve in most defensive shooting challenges. This culminated in taking several professionally taught shooting classes from a number of schools across the country.

Still the consummate outdoorsman and firearms proponent, nothing pleases Benny more than sharing his knowledge and experiences with others. At his home range he can often be found giving tips and pointers when requested and offering impromptu seminars on the use and care of firearms.

If it has to do with guns, it is likely that Benny has tried his hand at it. This covers reloading, firearms modification, collecting and even a little gunsmithing. This lifelong pursuit is the guiding light behind bobergarms.com.
